Which purchase is this: the cameras, or the software reading them?

Start by separating two questions that get merged constantly, because merging them is how estates end up replacing working hardware. Axis makes cameras, speakers and access control, with analytics running on the device. If your cameras are failing, out of support, or the wrong optics for the job, you are shopping for hardware and Verkada belongs on your list. If your cameras are fine and the complaint is what the system notices or how you search it, you are shopping for software and every Axis camera you own can stay.
