From surveillance to something that actually works alongside you

It started with a blind spot.
In 2018, three friends from Stanford — Tanuj Thapliyal, Rish Gupta, and Sud Bhatija — noticed something: businesses had installed millions of security cameras, but almost none of that video was being put to use. Footage was analog, unsearchable, and treated as a surveillance afterthought — something you only looked at once you already had a problem.
Our bet was that cameras could do more than record, and that’s what we still build on today. Spot AI gives cameras the ability to act themselves: detecting what matters, reasoning about context, and triggering the right response without waiting on a human in the loop.
