Start by discarding the wrong reasons, because there are two and both are common. Intenseye is not a rip-and-replace product: it uses the camera systems a plant already has, and its Sentinel Hub is described as universally compatible. And it is not thin: 50+ safety detections, a SOC 2 Type II attestation, and named customers including Swire Coca-Cola, Oldcastle APG and Huhtamaki. On safety alone this is a serious platform.
The real reason is scope, and here it runs the opposite way from most comparisons. Intenseye publishes no security detection set. A plant that buys it has an excellent answer for crane safety, collision risk and PPE, and no answer at all for the perimeter at 02:00, the loading dock investigation, or the case file that has to go to an insurer. Those still need a platform, and that platform will be watching the same cameras.
The second is the shape of the budget. Two contracts on one camera fleet is a question a CFO will eventually ask, and the honest version of the answer depends on how strong each side is. If your safety programme is the priority and the security estate is already covered, running both is a reasonable call. If neither is settled, one platform across safety, security and operations is fewer integrations, one set of cameras onboarded once, and one renewal.
